Kirsten Van Schreven

Biography

Kirsten van Schreven is an international printmaker and draughtsperson. She was born in South Africa, educated in the United Kingdom and is a citizen of the Netherlands. She currently works from her studio in the Béarn, Southwest France.

Kirsten has a BA (Hons) first class degree in Fine Art Printmaking from Maidstone College of Art and a Masters in Fine Art Printmaking from Chelsea School of Art. She is an elected member of the Royal Society of British Artists, founded in 1823, with an impressive list of past members including Whistler, Lowry, Sickert and Monet.

Her art has featured in several prestigious international exhibitions; in London (The Royal Academy, Mall Galleries and Bankside), Japan, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and France. She has won several awards for her work, including the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers editorial prize.

In addition to her fine art career, Kirsten worked globally for many years in pre-production and design in both the feature film and computer games industries, notably on the classic Sony Playstation video game Spyro the Dragon.
