Biography
I’m 73 and originally trained as a graphic designer. Photography came into my life quite late, when I retired and was given a Leica. That gift opened up a completely new world for me. Over time, I moved towards lighter and more discreet tools—the Ricoh GR III, and very often simply my phone.
I’ve always been curious about technology and love discovering new creative tools. Perhaps because of my background in graphic design, I also really enjoy the process that comes after taking a photograph. I spend quite a lot of time experimenting with light, colour, atmosphere and post-processing, sometimes even painting directly onto my photographs with Procreate.
I’m rather shy and something of a loner, and photography suits that side of me. I love the freedom of being unnoticed, wandering through cafés, museums, streets and everyday places, simply observing. What interests me most is not the spectacular, but those quiet moments when people, light and atmosphere unexpectedly come together.
